Navy "Blazer" Buttons - your thoughts?

I recently purchased a Muji 3/2, single vented, quarter-lined navy sports jacket with 2 patch pockets. Depending on whether my tailor is capable of it, I might get her to add working buttonholes.

The jacket came with faux horn buttons, and I would like to seek your informed opinions on what buttons I should replace them with. Gold buttons, despite their 'correctness' and trad-ness, are out of the question, as I personally dislike them as much as the S.O. does..

I'd keep what you have. Unless you really don't like the "faux"-ness of them; in which case I'd replace them with something similar.

I have a similar blue jacket (with black undertones as opposed to red) and went with black MOP buttons. Never looked back.

You may be interested in mid/dark brown corozo buttons - gives a more sporty and slightly more causal look.

white for sure - will add a nice contrast to it - will also be more universal then gold.

White MOP or smoke MOP would be very nice. Brown horn is very safe. Metal ones are blah.

I'd opt for horn buttons, you can't go wrong with them.

I think silver ones would look good and go well with your style, not entirely sure about the particular ones pictured above though.

Thanks for the comments folks.. I measured and re-measured and it seems like the silver ones will be a bit of a squeeze to fit through the buttonholes.. not sure if I want to risk them tearing over time.

For those advocating white MOP, what thread color would you recommend? To match the button or the buttonhole thread?

My 2 BC blazers (one in cotton & the other in cashmere) have white horn buttons.. They ROCK!

Thanks for the pics PG... the white horn buttons really look quite fab. Seems like a good trade-off between brown horn and white MOP!
