the strap reminds me of a typical asian businessman's shoe while the sole and general composition look like bench-made quality craftsmanship.

generally though, because of the color, they are more casual.

Martin:

Mais non!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These were made for me bespoke by Anthony Delos, www.anthonydelos.com. His site is available in French and in beautifully translated English

.

I find that Guyot's creations are created on a last that is too narrow for me.

Makes all that due diligence worth while, doesn't it?

Very tasteful and elegant. Does this mean we can look forward to photos of your Baron Demon suits?

I like them!

Normally I have a problem with butterfly loafers as they are usually very low-vamped, but these ones aren’t.

P.S. Why didn't you go for those phallic shoe trees?

Hmmm, bengal, what makes you ask that question...

Actually, having seen the so-called beaver-tail trees up-front, they're very striking, they're classic three-piece trees and they're made in the "rules of the art" as the French say (sorry for literal translation, but crashing headache) -- which is to say the beaver-tail piece is made out of a single piece of wood. However, I demurred for my own reasons:

1) Storage -- having that thing sticking up would get in the way in my shoe rack and would pose a problem putting the shoes in bags

2) Convenience -- I prefer hinged trees rather than wedging the third piece in and

3) Expense -- having them made would have been extra money and likely time.

I really do feel it's not the size of the tree that matters, but how I use it.

Baron Demon? Bateman, the due dil' is always worth it. It's the Blackberry that makes me feel like a character in the science-fiction short story "The Winner" (Donald Westlake?) who has an electronic implant that causes him escalating amounts of pain the farther away he gets from his prison.
