Trendy shoes
If I remember correctly, I saw some G&H branded shoes in the C&J factory store in Northhampton back in 2004. Could these be C&Js? It's a great way to get rid of the rejects.. Punch a hole in the wrong place? No worries. Just do it a few more times at random places and we'll brand it Gieves.- timekeeping

Good shoe repair in Sydney?
Coomb's shoe repair at the Strand arcade seems to be fairly popular. They are an authorized repair location for RM Williams. I use them for simple repair jobs and they seem to do good work. Henry Bucks who carries C&J, Church's and others recommends the cobbler on top of Wynyard station...- timekeeping

LA area factory outlet shopping this time of year
Had an interesting weekend roaming around Southern California looking for good deals. I couldn't find any except for Allen Edmonds. Desert Hills -Allen Edmonds had the sale on which is an additional 15% off all stock. Not bad. -Off 5th had a few David Chu "made in Turkey" shirts but in a nice...- timekeeping

AE Pebble Grain Leather..pics and question
Is it just the view or is the sole (the bits around the edges) not extending outwards as much as the modern AEs? I think that helps to make the shoe more elegant. On the other hand, isn't pebble grain more a "country" shoe rather than a "city" shoe? Also, I think certain manufacturers apply...- timekeeping

Is the vermeil/sterling section a magnet for fingerprints? Also the clip seems to be a more modern take of the classic Omas clip. I don't like it. Omas is now a member of LVMH... Hopefully they won't runin it.- timekeeping

Edward Green repair cost?
For behcngrade, C&J charges GBP80 for a complete resole at Northampton through the Royal Arcade store. Postage comes to around GBP40 to the Asia Pacific. Took 2 months but it came back flawless. Ascot Chang SUIT quality?
To clarify, would these Ascot Chang suits be comparable to Chan? Bear in mind that, for AC suits, you will probably be measured and fitted not by a cutter (of suits) but a shirtmaker instead. Ascot Chang SUIT quality?
I've heard about Ascot Chang offering suits in their HK stores. My understanding is that they are actually done by William Yu or Gordon Yao (both big and respected names in HK tailoring, like WW Chan). The prices are near to what WW Chan charges. Never seen a finished product, however.- timekeeping

John Lobb on eBay
These Lobbs are the real thing, not seconds or rejects (this seller will note the inside of the shoe is stamped "R" if they are rejects/seconds). I think they are not terrific value but does represent a sizable discount to retail. It appears the auction has ended anyway. So I guess it's a moot...- timekeeping
