    I thought: yoke = the horizontal stiched line that runs across the back of jeans No? The yoke is the piece of fabric between that line and the waistband.

    The yoke is the section of fabric between the waistband and the seat on the back of the jeans. Jeans with low yokes (like the Finn) are made that way to provide the low pocket that is popular now.
