If I'm a 11UK in Meermin's loafers, am I the same in Forest? About to buy first pair of Forest's and looking for a comparison. Thanks all!

Their shoes are of the lowest quality imaginable. Avoid them, especially when you can get decent quality leather or sneaker options from Skolyx, Meermin, etc for the same price.

Anyone got experience with Trunk Tailors in Melb? Would be curious to hear.

Was about to say the same. Not easy to see but it seems far too tight under the armpit (especially on the right side) which is causing the pulling across the back and the upper part of the arm. It may also be contributing to the overall arm length which seems a touch too short to me. I...

Try Cavour. I've bought a couple of pairs of their low rise pants with side tabs in the last year and found them to be excellent cut and quality. Sale on too. https://cavour.co/en/1/men

Yep, agree - I've tired all of the local MTM options (outside of OH) and ultimately haven't found any of them to be that impressive. Kamakura's OTR range in terms of fit, durability and pricing is the best I've found actually.

Interesting. And quite the indictment comparing them to Institchu - who are without doubt the worst 'tailoring' experience I've had in Australia.

How does Trunk's pricing compare do you know? I really like a lot of their style and was considering giving them a whirl - curious if you or any other members have any experience with them you could share? Thx.

Yeah I've got a few. It's what you'd expect from the price range (which admittedly has gone up remarkably in the last 1-2 years). I'd suggest reviewing the SuitSupply NYC thread on here in more detail. I bought a couple of overcoats (from the outlet) over recent years and have been pretty happy...

Go to Sam on Healey's Lane. He's excellent.

I've tried Institchu twice - once for pants, the other time for shirts. It's difficult to accurately describe in the king's english how bad the finished products are. Never ever again.

This. One million times this. I own plenty of SS sneakers, and my two Skolyx pairs are a gazillion times better quality. Do not buy SS sneakers, buy Skolyx. The end.

There's no SuitSupply in Melb. The Sydney one is a deeply frustrating experience, and I'm a regular visitor. They insist on you having an 'appointment' when you go in if you want anything. So you've got to wander around for 15 mins waiting for one of the many salespeople to free up. Said...

I went to 10 William St in Paddington for dinner last week. It was outstanding.

If you bought a suit 5-6 years ago for ~$500-600 from SS (or anyone for that matter) and you're disappointed that it hasn't got much more life in it, then you probably need to reassess your expectations rather than question SuitSupply would be my take.

DM are very reputable, yes. You can't go wrong with their offering, service, or distribution.

It's like something from Graham Norton's wardrobe.
