Same experience I had with the Brownflex — too much heel slippage. Tried insole layering but didn’t work. I‘ve mentioned this before, this is partly attributed to the fact that the back heel of the Brownflex has no curvature so the heel of the foot just won’t catch. Just did a research on the...

I forgot the size part of your comment. So you’re saying the size 11 of the Brownflex is bigger than the 11 Greenflex…may I ask by how much? And yes, they shouln’t be shipped in those blue plastic bags. The one I got had one corner of the box lid torn up. I guess free returns meant plastic...

And you got them from Huckberry, right? Looks like the shagginess of the nap was the result of multiple cleaning or brushing. The location of the white spot near the heel on the tobacco is identical to the dark chestnut’s I got from AFPOS. Could have been from the machine at the factory. Try...

Nice except for the shorter length heel which I’m not a fan of. If you’re not into the brand, consider the Idrese Hudson. It’s only $300 and ‘made to order’ and looks similar with the same Dainite sole but longer heel length? Cheers.

Yep, the Sam is the loosier version of the Hi-Top. I think it was precisely made to be an alternative to the narrow toed Hi-Top without losing the sleek outsole profile. In my opinion, in terms of overall presentation, the Hi-Top is still the one to beat. Because of its sophisticated yet mildly...

Well, you lucked out. If the insoles are removable, you can try wearing without them. See if it relieves pressure on your toes. This is what I did with my Astorflex Greenflex. It was snug all around until I removed the insoles and wore thinner socks.

Go half a size up to 13.5. That is what the folks at Sanders & Sanders recommend for the Hi-Tops.

By the way, I have already tried the Greenflex size 42. I’m a little bit disappointed ‘cause I was expecting it to be more roomier than the Dukeflex. It is but not much at all, I still find it uncomfortably snug all around with thick socks. At this point, my only consolation is that there’s no...

Gold, I‘ve tried the Brownflex Stone size 10 (43 EU) from Hucks too — but it’s too loosey goosey on me exactly like your experience with the Greenflex 44 — a 3/4 to almost an inch allowance in the front toe box. A lot of heel slippage even with the shoelaces tight which I think can be...

Ahhh…the old Johnniegold strikes again with no caption/description! Is that a Montflex or a Brownflex?

@DorianGreen That’s very encouraging to know, Green. Thanks. And yes, aesthetically, the Dukeflex is nice with the moc-toe look. But you have to be aware because of that and the front stitching, the vamp will be a little constrained — just a little bit of tightness or pressure. The toe area...

@Johnniegold Thank you Mr. Gold for all the pics and your inputs…much appreciate it, man! I am resigning to the fact that as an in-betweener borderline size F and G my size have no place in this ridiculously, asininely constructed Astorflex sizing chart. Hopefully the Greenflex will prove me...

@Johnniegold Question… Between the Greenflex and Dukeflex which of the two has more room around the vamp i.e. wider last? Cheers.

@DorianGreen I totally agree with your observation. The flat toe profile does not appeal to me. The Greenflex just looks robust or structured compared to the Brownflex, Clarks and MacAlisters.

@Johnniegold Did you just make that mark on the size with a sharpie?? Or was it photoshopped? Do you still have that pair of Dukies with you? If so, can you measure the insole length for me in CM if it’s not too much to ask. I still have the 42 with me which I got from AFPOS and the insole is...

@Johnniegold ”…but the Size 11 was too long and the stitching gave the shoe an even longer appearance than perhaps it really was.” How on earth did you end up getting a size 11 (45 EU?) Dukeflex??? Did they ran out of 44s? That is three half sizes bigger than your foot which is 9.5/43.5. It...

@Johnniegold An inch in a bulbous toe box is just too much! Now I’m having doubts about sizing up. My tolerance for extra room is only half an inch max, anything above that is unacceptable. It’s just a shame that all models didn’t work out for you with these Flexes but I wouldn’t consider the...

Nice pick up, Juan! Love the color! Looks beige to me and is a perfect match for a faded light blue jeans. I'm a size 8.5 UK and bought the dark chestnut 42 based on the Astorflex recommendation. I will be returning it though because it is a little bit snug across the vamp with just dress socks...

How small was the 43 can you recall? I guess you're a bit on the wider side that is why you sized up to 44 (contra to Astorflex's "size down if you are between sizes"). How much room in the front of your toes does the 44 leave you...half an inch?
