HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

Always find it's a shame that the more artistic PS's are hidden so much and never to be seen in all their glory. Like the watch as well.

    STEAKS!!!!!!!

    What was the restaurant ?

What are you drinking right now?

and backing up my post in the Scotch (please rename that thread) - a cheap supermarket Spanish brandy but most pleasant. Find the Spanish brandies are often better than the named French Cognacs. Serious hints of Toffee if that floats your boat, or conversely sinks it.

    Any One for a Scotch?

Nothing mate - it's a run of the mill Malt nothing more - it's pure internet FOMO hype (all this said as a Scotsman who has for the most part been hammering the drams for 30 years). Without wishing to burst bubbles, so much Whisky at the moment is over-rated/seriously over priced these days...

    STEAKS!!!!!!!

Apart from giving me the meat horn on your posts ;) - all your photo's are exceptional btw - that second one - the contrast of the pink of the meat, the herbs and the browns of the chopping board - really well done - magazine quality to me. Remind of me some of Nigel Slater's food photography...

What are you drinking right now?

A UK supermarket (Sainsbury's) own brand VS Cognac. For £20 a steal, and far better than some famous French brands at twice the price. More-ish, dangerously so.

    How to stop overdressing

No such thing as over dressed. You are either dressed as you wish to dress, or aren't.

Would you wear these shoes with a dark navy suit?

    An acceptable match IMO.

    STEAKS!!!!!!!

That is without doubt the most beautiful form post I've ever seen since the whole www was created. I drool (in respect) in it's creation and posting and can only imagine the taste. Respect Senor!

    The Plant Thread

Where are you based ? I've some issues this (mild Scottish) winter bizarrely with some of my plants - yellow leaves on peace lily (should be indestructible) and even my Kallithea has been wilting. Moved from a drafty Victorian place last year which has seen some proper low temperatures - which...

    Any One for a Scotch?

Great - in a way - to read this, glad it's not just me. I do think the whole Whisky market is saturated now with a lot of dross (NAS I'm looking at you) at the old standard pricing levels, with the 'rare' expressions over priced but able to sell due to it's new 'trendiness'. I remember a few...

    Any One for a Scotch?

Following on from my post 2 back - went on the rocks and was a far better experience taste wise - sweetness removed. Still though ...something missing, def. a removal of depth if you see what I mean. Think I'll go a bit more West coast for my next purchase to see how they fare in comparison -...

    Any One for a Scotch?

After returning to the drams after a self-imposed hiatus; I was to put it mildy, taken aback from the shite I was subjecting my taste buds to. A lot was NAS pish which I vowed never to touch again, BUT, the Aberlour 12 ? The 10 was my go to dram for years with the 12, maybe not as good IMO...

What are you drinking right now?

Absolutely; turns even the cheeriest and placid souls into a mixture of an aggressive Begbie and self introspective Rebus combination. Live up here and the feeling is amplified esp. when the weather is dreich as we say.... and it's been a dreich dreich winter so far.

What are you drinking right now?

Napoleon Brandy - generous Spanish measures to keep out the freezing Scottish cold. Why not whisky you say ? Fair point but working tomorrow and find whisky in serious measures at the moment does bad things to my soul. Liver and body abuse I can handle though.

    Any One for a Scotch?

Strange (in this era of v.young NAS bottling) to see a 15 year old blend.

What are you drinking right now?

that looks v.interesting - how does the sherry cask finish work with the peat ?

    Do you carry cash?

Opposite here - carrying more than ever before - whilst a wallet shouldn't be bulging all the time, it should be filled to a healthy degree. Plus, without sounding like some reddit reading basement dwelling c.theorist - if we all stop using cash it passes a lot of control out of hands.

    The Italian Travel Thread

Stayed here 5 years ago to the day - https://www.hotelquirinale.it/en/ Trading (slightly) on past glories - has a history, wasn't that expensive back then 460 euros for 4 nights (double) and in house meal was decent. Good location, not too many annoying beggars/hagglers around - my worst...
