Casual suits: chore or safari jacket with matching trousers?

I recently saw Yeossal and Epaulet offer matching pants for some of their chore coats and safari jackets. This is a bit different from casual suit options in more relaxed fabrics such as linen or corduroy that maintain similar jacket details found in a more formal suit (e.g. notch or peak lapel...

    Solid navy suit

Seeking conservative, solid navy suit that would work for interviews, weddings, and other formal occasions. I am 5'10" and about 150 pounds. I am generally a 38R and am looking for a suit with measurements in the following range: Jacket Shoulder: ~17.5" Chest (pit-to-pit): 20-21" Body length...

Those shoes look stunning in the sunlight. Has anyone tried one of Cobbler Union's belts in museum calf?

Air tie - faux pas or fashionable?

No jacket, but I've seen the air tie with farmers from earlier eras too.

Air tie - faux pas or fashionable?

Do you know of any examples of someone wearing an air tie with an outfit more akin to the classic menswear looks on this board?

Air tie - faux pas or fashionable?

The thing I don’t like about the “rebellious schoolboy” look is it gives the impression one is eschewing the tie because one doesn’t like to wear ties. I generally like wearing ties, but there are just instances when it would be best to not wear one.

Air tie - faux pas or fashionable?

David Lynch wears an air tie well, but is this a fashionable option for the rest of us? Sometimes a tie feels too formal but I still desire to button my shirt all the way up, as I find it frames my face better than an open-collared shirt. Most other men I have seen donning the air tie are...

Who still wears a suit to work?

With fleece blanketing much of midtown Manhattan, what organizations still have a business formal dress code for the majority of its employees? I think it would be interesting to create a list on this thread.

What dress shoes/boots would a podiatrist recommend?

I bear the misfortune of having a bunion on each foot. The general advice one finds online is to wear wide running shoes or some sort of square-toe monstrosities. The few doctors to whom I've spoken also recommend wide shoes, so toe boxes that chisel or taper are seen as exacerbating to my...

Who still wears a suit to work?

You can always say you're dressed up because it's "insert day of the week here". I've considered forming a group at work that observes formal Fridays or tie Tuesdays. This would add a social component and provide an excuse, but I'm not sure there would be sufficient interest. Has anyone ever...

    Help Buying Suits Online

Unfortunately, I don't think there's an easy workaround in your situation. It's difficult for a tailor to modify pants that are more one size up.

Who still wears a suit to work?

The new GS dress code stipulates employees dress in a manner consistent with client expectations. With most clients dressing more casually themselves, it's only a matter of time before the company realizes wearing a suit and tie to external events is not necessary either.

Who still wears a suit to work?

That's a great response to those worried people will primarily judge them on their choice in clothes. If you focus on being good at what you do, a few eccentricities add, not detract, to your character.

Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...) - official thread.

Does anyone have any experience with both Ace Marks and Carmina double monk straps? I'm trying to decide whether the extra $150-200 that Carmina charges is worth it.

    ACE Marks Thread

I have a pair of Griffin captoe oxfords in black. So far, they haven't been as comfortable as AE strands. The leather was very stiff out of the box and still hasn't completely loosened up after six wears. I also find the leather around the cap squeezes my pinky toe on my right foot. I only wear...

Who still wears a suit to work?

A cardigan and dress shirt would be okay; it's the tie I find that's the issue unfortunately. For some reason, a lot of people have emotional hang-ups with neck-wear, which I don't understand. The day and age of "the man" forcing you to wear a tie is long gone.

Who still wears a suit to work?

+1. I used to work somewhere that required formal business attire and then transitioned to business casual. Most people welcomed the new dress code, but it felt like a major downgrade to me. I still dressed up, but then I developed a reputation as "that guy that wears a suit". The thing I miss...
