    A couple more days and I'll get to post this mini briefcase that I'm working on! I have a full size one that I'll be making soon - antique calfskin. Later on I'll be making a crocodile one.

    Ever since I first saw this range, I've wanted to make something similar. It has great depth of character. I have some very deep purple leather which is antiqued like the Berluti leather.

    I strictly use Saphir Reptan on my exotics. It buffs up quite well with some solid brushing. I am primarily taking about Crocodylus skins. There are so many variables involved here, from the different types of tannins, finishes and conditions that it becomes a matter of whatever works for you...

    Leather Quality and Properties

    The boarding of the skin makes the leather more supple and more pliable. Box calf also has a different tanning recipe and all tanneries that produce box calf have their own recipe for Box. The willow pattern, in theory, should give the skin more rigidity compared with box calf.

    Exotics require a different conditioner. Reptile skin is fundamentally different to mammal skin. Bickmore, the makers of Bick4, also have Bickmore Exotic. I would use that for exotics. Couldn't agree more.

    Saphir Reptan was specifically made for use with exotic skins. Other conditioners may damage the skin. Use a cotton swab to polish scale by scale and be careful not to get a build up of the cream in between the scales. Only use an absolutely tiny amount per application and allow time to fully...
