This reminds me when I was in Beijing last year on business, I saw a NorthFace pullover that look exactly like the one my niece has for $15 versus $60 at REI. Will drycleaning shrink pants length?
Earthmover gave a correct answer. Cottons and wool do shrink if the machine used is not running correctly. Particularly, if the machine has high level of humidity because out of adjustment. Seattle Alterations Tailor Recommendations?
There really isn't a good tailor or alteration shop (dry cleaners) that offer consistent work and prices in Seattle area. Greg, You look good. Suit fits you nice, and the pants look slim enough for you. Typically, it'll cost anywhere from $10-15 for a capable alteration shop (Dry Cleaners) and $20-25 for a good tailor. Also, ask the tailor to add an extra cloth material inside the hem for extra weight as an option...- hughjoen

Hello, everyone.
Like what Ed posted above, I meant that Navy and Charcoal is a safe color. When I was in DC area going to school, everyone seem to be wearing very dark color suits (Government officials, etc.) seem more appropriate than other citites. G, The only problem is that since the sleeves have working buttonholes, you will not be able to alter the length of them. Hopefully you wear a 34" sleeve or so on your dress shirts, otherwise that might cause you some problems. The shoulder seem large for a 38, its typically, 18 inches...- hughjoen

Very nice find. Although, you should still look for a solid navy or charcoal suit considering you're in DC. That suit you bought would look good in white shirt and dark tie (maybe dark navy?), and black captoe...only in DC black dress shoe is a must I think. Shoe emergency!
I was young and stupid, way before SF). Good Advice from above posters! If you've learned from SF, please DO NOT buy intending to return them later. Above all else, character counts, even more so than looking stylish. If you have Nordstrom Rack nearby, its another choice you have.- hughjoen

BB non-iron slim fit shrinkage

Custom Tailoring Dilemma
I'm sure you have the feel for your own situation best, but don't sell yourself short. It doesn't matter if someone can do the job for $100. it's what the client or in this case, the tailor is willing to pay for. You have already done your part. Help on formal wear for an interview
B School? Business School? for job or to get in? Anyways, Wear a jacket! Please. Don't go to an interview w/o a jacket. Tie and shirt just look incomplete. Not a good first impression. If you want to be less formal just wear a navy jacket and khaki pants and a tie.- hughjoen

brown spots from ironing
If its not the burn spot from the iron, then washing it again will get rid of it. Bad, hard water, and soap risidue is probably it like you said. Wash your shirts w/ water softner at highest recommended temperature, and maybe rinse twice. This might be good idea to check your washing machine...- hughjoen
