Vintage Dress shoe appreciation, tips, maintenance and advice

Absolutely amazing. This is a grail shoe for many collectors. The Elegant Oxford just made a video about them:

RANCOURT & Co. Shoes - Made in Maine

Nice pair. Rancourt never made for OSB. OSB is made in the older Highland shoe factory, which did work for Chippewa, Eastland, etc. When the factory decided to close, OSB bought it and kept the business which was an incredible move.

    J FitzPatrick Appreciation Thread

Just wondering, how long and what amount of wear it took for this to happen ?

    Cheaney

Sorry, don't have access to them at the moment. But here's a picture I shared from earlier this year: They still look great and I wear them more in the fall. The Cheaney CXL collection is quite underrated, their CXL cuts always seem higher quality, or at least that's how I see it, compared to...

Vintage Dress shoe appreciation, tips, maintenance and advice

Yes, I know this guy and I confirm as well that I had very similar negative experiences with him. I believe he runs the classicshoesformen.com site. He tried to lowball me on a couple of Johnston & Murphy and Florsheim listings I had on eBay.. Just last month, I had a pair of NWB vintage...

    Allen Edmonds rant ;)

Yes, I believe it was a fashion institute in NYC. They also had a denim cap-toe oxford designed by one of the students.

ALLEN EDMONDS APPRECIATION THREAD EDITION 2O22

I would love to see the Dundee chukkas back. As well as other boot models like the Shaker Heights or the Normandy. With the right color/leather selections, I just can't imagine these being bad sellers.

ALLEN EDMONDS APPRECIATION THREAD EDITION 2O22

We partially agree here, because I would never wear a lugged Park Avenue myself either. But the point is, they're providing a more utilitarian, functional, version of a beloved model. Something more suited to winter or heavy weather. Not necessarily the woods. :) Also, if I'm not mistaken, this...

ALLEN EDMONDS APPRECIATION THREAD EDITION 2O22

Quite surprised to see some of the negative reactions to the new lugged sole Park Avenue.. British manufacturers like Cheaney, Alfred Sargent, even C&J, have been producing lugged, or cleated, sole dress styles for years. Maybe it's better understood, or advertised, in the UK, as Country /...

    April 28th DROP - NIB Hackett * Cheaney 10.5

Could you post a picture of the size imprint on the inside of the shoe ? I like to know the UK size and the last it's built on. Thanks..

    Meermin Mallorca Shoes

Yeah, same thing happened to me last year... I got the letter/bill 2 months later. I asked why didn't they collect the charges when they delivered the package ? They said because it is surface mail and due to the covid situations they don't do that anymore, they don't even collect signatures...

    Meermin Mallorca Shoes

Thanks for sharing this.. I'm in Ontario and this is something I've had to straggle with many times.. Private couriers (UPS, FedEx) seem to charge a ridiculous amount of brokerage fee when going through Canadian customs. So I prefer to ship using USPS as well. I have recently tried this with J...

It's an underrated design I think for a loafer.. and in shell cordovan they look gorgeous. Judging by the logo, this is the "Made in India" ?

Vintage Dress shoe appreciation, tips, maintenance and advice

Very nice.. Never heard of this "comfort craft" line before, I'm guessing 80s, since some of the 90s catalogs have the shoes properly named like Aldrich, Geeorgetown, etc.
