Why does there appear to be a hole in that thing? Is this some kind of joke coffee mug where when they pick it up it spills everywhere? Or some kind of strange glazed 1960s/1970s pothead mechanism?

Hmm big folded piece behind the collar. Lapel flower loop.. Milanese button holes. Surgeons cuffs. Stitching everywhere. Big wide waistband. Hidden coin pocket. Lining color matches the pinstripes..

Yeah I'd say it's most likely not an 'off the shelf' piece from like Isaia, Zegna, etc. Could be bespoke or MTM from Savile Row or similar. The lapels and pocket flaps are cut a certain way but I can't narrow that down to specific shop. If they were more angled I would say Anderson Sheppard.

I couldn’t believe the comps on this! Contemplating having a leather restoration place fix some of the small issues (a crappy repair and a puncture under one of the arms). I did clean it up with some leather cleaner and conditioner and it really came to life.

I actually had no idea what I was looking at until I looked it up. I mean I knew a leather RL piece is good no matter what, but the retail price (and resale) blew my mind. I didn’t look at it right away either. This thing was so out of place (last neighborhood where I’d expect to find something of this caliber). I saw the pillows first. Then the blanket. Walked around and then circled back to the chair. I saw the price (they initially had the couch, chair and ottoman set at $50, then slashed the price to $20). I figured at that price, it was some crappy big box furniture store special. The couch was really rough and was nothing special. The chair had a slightly different appearance and when u lifted the cushion, I knew I wasn’t leaving without it. I returned later to see if they had more furniture. Apparently their son bought a storage unit last year and this stuff was in it. Unfortunately this was the last of it and they were just blowing it out to get rid of it.

Here’s some photos after I got it home and cleaned it up a bit. Still need to give the wooden feet a little TLC.

Well boys, don’t think we need to wait any longer to declare @Nataku the 2024 Cheapies winner. Honorable mention to Frenchie for the Chanel and many watch finds already this year.
